In my cases, even couple of seconds old fry were slow and easy to catchIf he is moving fast that means he is at least a week old, I only saw my tetra fry after they were zipping around the tank too. Guppy fry on the other hand I have seen plenty of day old fry that move fairly slow and are easy to catch. I would suggest adding some live plants like ferns to give him more hiding places.
Fry are so cutee.. no wonder that you've got a weaknessI have a weakness for fry, always like to see them except for my feeder guppies which have way too many fry in my RES tank. .My fancy guppies that I put in my LOTR tanks 2 weeks or so ago already fry and she did not look pregnant at the time. Hope they take after the father.
My dream is to open a fish shop.. I will try to breed some beautiful strains that I'm actually gonna raise and sell as "specials" .My weakness has back-fired on me a few times over the years with overcrowded tanks of fry. Guppies, Mollie, Cichlids and Red Eye tetra to name some fish where my weakness got out of hand. I am working on having a 10 gallon breeding tank in the basement for my neon, ember and glow light tetra but will try and keep the numbers down if I am lucky to have any fry. (DO NOT TELL THE WIFE)
Lol Why?(DO NOT TELL THE WIFE)
With 4 tanks already running she is not wild about another tank and made that clear but in a nice way, I have 4 empty tanks in the basement I can use. Many years ago I had 6 tanks running in a different house. I do not think she wants to go back to that along with all the animals we had.My dream is to open a fish shop.. I will try to breed some beautiful strains that I'm actually gonna raise and sell as "specials" .
Caaaaann'tt wait!
Lol Why?
Could you look at the colours of the fry and at your other fish and see if you can compare? I did that with my little guppy fry, when she grew up and started showing off colours I looked at her and two possible mommies and then I knew who her mommy is.
58 gallons is a huge tank, I believe that your fishies are happy! And the tank size has helped this little fry to survive from being eaten by other fish in the tank.
i believe it is a panda molly just by the looks (black back yellowish on front) but since it doesn’t have much color on the front half I’m not positiveCould you look at the colours of the fry and at your other fish and see if you can compare? We have 2 live plants,a fake plant,a pirate ship,a pineapple, and a huge rock It hangs out at the bottom of the tank and sticks close to the hiding placesIf he is moving fast that means he is at least a week old, I only saw my tetra fry after they were zipping around the tank too.
