I’ve never had popeye to deal with. This is the first time. Betta has pop eye and also cannot pass food. Showing signs of dropsy. How do I euthanize? I know clove oil works well but I don’t have any and I am not 100% sure of the procedure. I also heard you can cut the spine or something like that. Please advise

Water parameters are 0 ammonia 0 nitrate 0 nitrites

Pop eye can be caused by a bacterial or fungal infection or an injury (scratch).

The easiest way to treat it is with big daily water changes and gravel cleaning the substrate.

Clean the filter if it hasn't been done in the last 2 weeks.

Wipe the inside of the tank with a clean fish sponge.

You can add 1-2 heaped tablespoons of rock salt, sea salt, or swimming pool salt for every 20 litres of water. Keep the salt in there for 2 weeks.
When you do daily water changes, add salt to the new water before adding it to the tank so the salinity (salt level) remains constant.

----------------
The fish doesn't look like it has dropsy from the pictures but a side and front view might show more.
