Today I noticed some hair like growths on the glass on my tank. And it's everywhere please help me to identify what it is. It's just on my glass and no where else in the tank.
There is also some green algae on the glass and some green spots. And the hairs grew after the algae started to spread. I am not sure if it's hydra or some kind of algae but I want to know if it's dangerous to my fish or not.

P.S: also give me some tips too remove the algae on the glass without scratching the glass surface.

What are your water parameters?

Does the stuff on the glass look like little green or white “trees”?

This is just algae, it's not hydra :)
Your algae scrubber will be your friend in removing the algae.
Gosh! Thankyou so much. Can you tell me what type of algae it is? I don't want it to multiply in my tank. Is there any way to control it. Becoz my algae scrubber won't reach all the corners of my tank.

Maybe string algae? (Aka hair algae)

You can use a small sponge that has never been used to wash dishes or been around chemicals.

Its definentely hair algae. It is short for now but it still grows, if given the chance it'll grow long. Shrimp will love it! (When it's long)

Shrimp may like it, but I don’t! Even if it makes the tank look “cool” or “Natural” it still can cause problems later on. :)

Yep, shrimp love it, but it looks like green beard or a goatee lol.
It'll make problems though.
I prefer java moss for my cherry shrimp. I counted 20 babies in my 29g today. (In the one java moss clump.) :yahoo:
