sorry this may seem a bit long, I dont know what I'm supposed to do for my fish.
I've had my two platys and my 5 tetra for around 4 months or so now.
within the first week or two my platy got pregnant, or what I thought to be pregnant.
She had a big belly which she didn't have when i bought her and the male platy none stop harrasses her and follows her around the tank.
It's well planted, i have natural wood for tenins ( if thats the right word) in a 105 liter with only the 7 fish in.
but anyway. I know they are live bearers, this week maybe 4 days ago she gave birth to 3 fish.
I read that they can give birth from 20 to 40?
I'm mostly concerned because this is the first time she has given birth and i thought they gave birth every 30 days ?
please find attached a picture of my two platys, left and right, a tetra photobombed the middle.
and also a picture of one of the fish she gave birth to, they are red balloon platys.

Is there any reason why she doesnt give birth ? does she feel uncomforable or something ?
any feedback is great because I haven't dealt with pregnant fish before
thanks :)

i should also add i was not told that the platys were different genders i thought that they were the same gender

For a first birth it is common for only a few fry, also she may not be done... some livebearers will drop over a couple days.
Some fry may have been eaten as well.

If you only have the 2 I would suggest getting 2 more females so his attention is spread out

She may not drop of she is stressed, avoid moving her or it could injure her or the fry.

If the male is causing issues you could remove him temporarily

You could add lots of plants to help make her feel more secure

@JuiceBox52 is correct if she feels safe and relax then mother nature will take over. Do you want to keep the fry or not? If you wish to keep the fry you need somewhere to keep them. A fry net in the tank or another cycled tank just for them. If you decide you want to keep the fry use a turkey baster or a small cup to pick them up with.

I will have a look for more females that is a good idea.
I am mainly concerned because she has been pregnant for a good few months.
with quarantine i spend a lot of the time looking at my tank in the corner of my room I'm sure I wouldnt have missed it if there were many more than the three she gave birth to.
I haven't moved much in the tank. I had an overgrown plant that i had to remove but other than that i dont mess much with the tank apart from when siphoning, I'm not too sure how else there could be stress.

Maybe the male is causing her to be stressed ?
I would quite like to keep them, I think some more platys would look nice in my tank. I'll have a look at getting a net because I don't have much room to store another tank

Yes the male can definitely be stressing her. Most people who keep mollies, platies and guppies have a male to female ratio of 1:3 :) it help keep the females sane

The adults will probably leave them alone as long as they are not hungry. I have tetra fry in my tetra tank and had to put them in a fry net because the adults were nipping their fins and chasing them . My tetra fry had grown too big to be eaten but not big enough to be left alone and not bullied.

If there is enough hiding places and you feed your fish well some may survive in the tank
There is quite a few hiding places, between and under the logs and i have a quite dense set of plants on one side.

I haven't seen the platy or tetras nipping or harrassing them though I guess i can never be certain that they havent been. I'll have to keep an eye on them,

I will have a look at getting some more platies then.
Would it matter what type of platy I got ? if they were a different colour ?

thanks :)

Any type of platy is fine
