Aponogeton bulbs

So my bulbs have been growing a little more than a month. Each bulb continues to produce flowers. Each one has had at least 5 or 6 flowers so far. I keep cutting them once they flower. But now wondering how I can get them to make more plants ?
Do the bulbs produce more bulbs , like tulips or iris plants do ? Or how can I get more of them ?

Don't cut the flowers off because the plant will produce more flowers and waste heaps of energy on the flowers. If you get 2 flowers at the same time, you can gently rub the 2 flowers together to try and pollinate them.

Aponogetons produce seeds and do not produce smaller bulbs.

Oh ok Thought I needed to cut them off to save energy lol but I’ll leave them on from now on. They are constantly producing flowers!
 
I am not well versed in Aponogeton species, but I had one that readily produced adventitious plants from the flower stalks (inflorescences). I did sometimes see those long flower clusters, and this was several years ago and I can't remember if the daughter plants followed the flowering, or if they just appeared on certain stems. But I had several, and when I cut them off and planted them, they grew as new plants.

I did find that Aponogeton did better with a Flourish Tab next to the tuber, replaced every three months. My Red Tiger Lotus, also a tuber plant, also did better with the FT.

I’ve never tried flourish tabs. But I do have fluval stratum under the gravel and the plants seem to live it. They are healthy and growing well. Just want more aponogeton lol
 
Aponogetons are gross feeders and need heaps of fertiliser. The reason they grow really well for the first 3months is because they are using up the nutrients they have stored in the bulb. When that runs out, the plants fall apart and die if they don't have sufficient nutrients in the soil or water.
 
Don't go cheap on substrate fertilizer tabs. Seachem's Flourish Tabs are about the best. The API are less. I cannot speak for European manufacturers. The wrong tabs can create a lot of problems.
