Can anyone Identify this knifefish?

My LFS give this guy to me, can you ID this knifefish? Is this African Knifefish?

Yes, it is a African Knife Fish. Also known as "Clown Knife Fish". To my knowledge these can get very big.

My LFS often giveaway fries and baby fish because they dont have too many to take care of.
 
Hmm..weird. Why do you put algae wafers in your tank in the first place? Do you have shrimp or snails?
 
This species, Chitala chitala, is not suitable to any home aquarium. It is also listed as near threatened. It belongs in its habitat. At a size of 75-122 cm (30-48 inches), an aquarium would need to be 12 feet in length and five feet in width just to allow the poor fish to maneuver. Dealers should not be selling fish this large.

Wow that is crazy! Definitely shouldn't be sold!
