I am not sure, if my fish need help but they act normally like always till someone comented on my blog saying my fish has ammonia burns were the gills are. They do not gasp for air or anything like that and they had it since i got them, they 've always been like this. But i'm still not sure and a bit worried.
So i have 3 goldfish and two of them have pinkish colloring on their gills like you see in the picture Dont calico fish have sometimes pinkish gills as colloration?
I also don't think it's ammonia because i have a strong canister filter, and do waterchanges weekly. I tested te water in a fish store since i dont have test kits and they said my water was perfect . My other fish that isn't calico doesnt have this. so...... what do you guys think?

If the water is fine and there is no ammonia or nitrite and the nitrate is less than 20ppm, it is just colouration from the gills.

Calico goldfish have semi-transparent gill covers and you can normally see the pink gill filaments under the gill covers. It's perfectly normal for that type of fish.

This isn't relevant to the fish's gills but I just want to make a couple of general comments.

Firstly always ask for numbers at a shop when they test. It is common for them to say fine, or whatever, when the numbers show it's not fine. Getting the numbers is the only way to be certain.

A strong cannister filter does not mean there can't be any ammonia. There can be many reasons why a tank with a cannister filter can have ammonia (not cycled, something killed the bacteria etc)
