Hey y’all! I was wondering if you could help me ID my cichlid. I got her about 2 years ago. The store I got her from sold her as a Texas cichlid, but when I look it up she looks nothing like it. I want to add more cichlid to my 75 gallon tank but I want to know what type she is first. Also I’m new on here so I didn’t know exactly where to post this. Thank you

gold edge rivulatus (Andinoacara rivulatus)
someone has been taking bites out of the fins and your water looks cloudy.

Green terror. They can be highly aggressive and grow to upwards of 10 inches.

Is anything else in the tank? What's up with it's dorsal fin?

Adding a fish to the tank will likely be a difficult task. You'll likely experience heavy aggression. Green terrors are very big and aggressive fish. Once they get around max size, I've found them to be extremely aggressive.

You'll want a similar sized fish with equal jaw strength. Stay away from the big boys like texas, red devils or jaguar. And remember your tank size. A 4ft tank is not a whole lot of room for 2 large fish.

Stay away from less aggressive south american cichlids like oscars, firemouth, severum, or geos.

I'll comment again on what I think could work once you answer some questions for us.

1 - What other fish are in the tank?
2 - What is you're water change schedule? Colin mentioned you're water seems a bit cloudy and you're terror's dorsal fin is deteriorating or something took a chunk for it. I'd hate to suggest to add another fish if you already have a problem with the tank. Which leads me to question 3..
3 -What are your readings of ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, pH, and gH

Gold Saum, Green terror and gold edge rivulatus are all common names for the same fish
(Andinoacara rivulatus)
.

I thought the gold saum was the false green terror and the true green terror is andinoacara stalsbergi . I think the difference between the two is the scales on the side.

Just look up green terror vs gold saum, saums are a little less aggressive and they come in 2 different forms, one with gold edged tail and one with white edged tail.

That’s a green terror. They are extremely aggressive and can get very large.

No I don’t have any other fish in my tank. She did have a blood parrot fish with her for a good two years. I got him from my friend who could not take care of him anymore do you his size. He was pretty old so he passed away
She had Ick then while treating her she got fine rot. She make a full recovery and the dorsal fin came back a different colors.
I had just cleaned and do a water change on my every week. If I’m doing something wrong please point it out. Also thank you

No problem. You’re not doing everything you can.
