Opal is my betta I’ve had for about a year now. My fish's head has been turning red. About 2 weeks earlier, his tank had high ammonia and I had lowered his tank ammonia levels and it is safe now. In that time, he got gill burns and got cuts on his head. I am worried that he is not doing too well and getting worse. His tank pH level is 6.6 and I do a water change every 2 weeks. Could it possibly be ammonia poisoning or him bumping into objects in the tank?

What are you water parameters? We cant tell if its ammonia poisoning if we don't know the ammonia levels. If you dont already have a testing kit consider buying an api master test kit. If you get your water tested at a pet store make sure you have them tell you the numbers and dont just tell you that it is all good because they often dont know what all good really is :)
