I’ve just noticed that my tank glass has hundreds of tiny white worms on it! This has really given me the creeps. I just did an 80% water change yesterday and that seems to have made them appear. Can somebody tell me what these are and how I can get rid of them? I don’t have any fish in the tank currently but are these harmful to fish?

either planaria or detritus worms (most likely detritus).
they are nothing to worry about. just do a big water change and gravel clean the substrate every day for a week.

All tanks have detrit
us in them. They come to the surface when you over feeding. Cut down on your feedings along with w/c’s.

Thanks I’ll do definitely do more water changes. Glad to know they’re not harmful. Out of curiosity do fish eat these? I’m eventually going to get guppies and neon tetras and wonder if they would lower the numbers?

If you want, you can kill these by adding “Potassium Permanganate” to the tank. (1/3 of teaspoon per 10 Gal)
