I have 4 ember tetra fry that I rescued from being eaten they are 3 fish months old and large enough to go in my main tank, 3 of them are red, with little black spots (normal) and one has no red or pink or orange and has almost as many black spots as a dalmatian molly, does anyone know why this is?

I had hoped my ember tetra would have babies but my pregnant female just died, I think she was trying to give birth. I would love to see a picture of your fry.

I agree with Colin. Can't see the first clear enough, but the second is definitely a livebearer.

Fry from egg laying species like tetras can appear, but generally the eggs are what the fish (any fish) will eat if they find them so it is very uncommon (depends uppon the aquascape and fish species present). If an egg should fall where it remains unseen and hatches, the fry can often survive if there is sufficient cover (wood, thick plants) because their first food, infusoria, will be present in such areas.
 
Interesting. They have a different body shape from any livebearer fry I have had in the past
 
And they school together
 
What species of fish are in the tank, and were in the tank shortly before the fry appeared?
 
Ember tetras and neon tetras and blushing tetras, as well as amano shrimp and African dwarf frogs
 
Well, that would seem to rule out livebearers, unless one very small fry arrived with other fish (I have had this occur more than once, I got two shrimp, Endlers, and a puffer this way). Clearer photos might help us.

That's so funny. I got a itty bitty mystery snail that way and found it in my tank 2 months later
 
Here is a clear picture, still super blurry, my camera is absolutely crappy
