Where did you spend your Xmas :santa: holiday?
Did Santa bring you any fish related gifts...tell us all about it.

I got together with family earlier in the week to exchange gifts for the little ones. I celebrated the holiday today with a close friend. We exchanged gifts, smoked a couple of cigars :big_boss:, watched some vintage shows on tv including the Seinfeld episode about Festivus d:D and we feasted on Chinese food. I didn't receive any fish :fish: related gifts but got lots of other goodies.

So share with us about how your holiday went.

PS: Be sure to vote in our TANK OF THE YEAR poll.

Hi fishmanic,

Sounds like youve had a good holiday :) love chinese food.....

Xmas day just ended for us across the pond. Spent the day with family at home watching the kids open their presents, had a lovely xmas dinner and had a good giggle watching tv with a few drinks later on. Perfect family xmas for me.

Not had any fish goodies of the big man in red but ive treated my big tank to a Dual heating temp controller which i think will be well worth the money for the peace of mind it will bring.

Glad you had a good one :good:

Spent Christmas with the family. Great food, great gifts, and great memories. No fish stuff but I did get a $50 gift check that I plan on putting towards a Marineland 5 gallon Portrait aquarium for one of my bettas. He got booted out of his 10G when Edgar started eating my shrimp. So Tai has been living in a 4G QT tub for the last couple of weeks. He deserves a new tank.

Went to our families Christmas eve party. It's a party that's been going on since before I was born and I'm 58- soon to be 59. Now all our parents except one has passed away and a number of husbands (such as mine) have died as well. One thing my cousins have found interesting is that virtually NONE of our children are interested in carrying on the tradition and we can't figure out why. I think because we are at the point where our children also have children and there are just too many places they are expected to be and I guess ours must be the most boring party and each family has developed their own tradition. So this year instead of 25 to 30 people like it used to be, there were only 14 of us. We always have Chili for supper along with veggie snacks and lots of homemade candy and cookies. I also suspect most of our children don't even bake - they just pick up the treats at a local store. Such a sad tradition soon to be lost.

Sunday was spent alone with my fish and my cat. The stray cat's food had run out over night and boy they were unhappy with me - so I quickly got them fed and watered, I was so exhausted I was glad to be alone and watch the discontinued show "Orange is the New Black" which I really like.

As far as gifts - I did get an electronic PH meter for Christmas since I get so hung up on my constant PH changes. My tanks also gave me a gift - for the first time in several months every tank has zero ammonia, zero nitrites and 10 or less nitrates. But the ph's ranged from 6.2 to 8 and they all really should be right around 7. So if this tool works (you have to set it with buffering solutions) then I can just quickly check all the PH's and go on with my day since i now rarely need to check the rest of the waters parameters. I also got a stuffed Pokemon Psi Duck (my favorite Pokemon since I also suffer from terrible headaches). Got some much needed gloves since I gave my daughter (who is expecting a baby) my last pair, and since she hadn't returned my gloves I assume she already lost mine as well, and decided to buy some new ones for me LOL. I bought myself a very nice little photo printer to print/reprint some of the photos in my collection - some which are very fragile, and I bought a new portable vacuum for my hardwood floors - I can vacuum my house in 10-15 minutes. Finally I PLAN to purchase a 3D pen that works like a 3D printer and see how difficult they are to work with

Merry Christmas everybody!

Our Christmas was a bit empty being first Christmas with our beloved mum but had a beautiful feed of roasts, seafood, salads etc for hubby’s side. The kids enjoyed themselves and that’s our big thing seeing them happy and excited! It’s all about the kids for us.
Our Boxing Day was our day to finally paying mum to rest and closing the final chapter by scattering her ashes over the ocean. Below of one of my images I took for our goodbye photo!

Sorry I am late to this thread. I slept in till 11 am. Rare, I usually am up by 5:30 :) Then I ate some food. Then relatives came over. I got one fish related gift. Some mexican potting clay I wanted to make root ferts like this dude.
I also got some other gifts, a wallet, a backpack some sour patch kids :)
All in all it was a nice christmas. But certainly not white. It was 50 degrees F

We kept the family tradition of watching sports. I watched lots of TV and too much basketball. We also had ham and all kinds of good food. Lots of cookies. And to wrap up the day we watched "Its a wonderful life"
