compatable fish

Hi, after much thought, trust me had desision. we have decided to keep Bettas in our comunity tank. We have only just started introducing fish (4 platies so far) but understand that only certain other fishes will live happily with betta's and visa versa.
Could you helpful people out there provide so suggestions as to other fishies we can keep with a few female bettas?

+ any other beginner betta advise would be sweet.

sorry if this sound a totaly n00b question but is it only the males that have the fantastic finage? anyone have any pics of males and females for comparison?

yes the male would have the more fantastic finnage. the female would look alittle smaller and her fins would be alot shorter.

i've kept platies, swordtails, and mollies in with my female betta and she never bothered them :nod:
