It seems that Bettas are the number one favorite of people on this TFF Forum. I have looked at the IBC website and there are fantastic pictures of Bettas there. I'm thinking about signing up with them too. You can trade and buy from other members. The Podunk town I live in just does not have any selection.

That’s right!
I bit the bullet. Just now signed up with the International Betta Congress. A quick look at their members only library was mind boggling. And the breeding supplies you can buy ! This is well worth the 20 smackers I forked over. The Flare Magazine has pictures of Bettas that are astounding. You can ship your Betta to a show and enter him. Is that cool or what ? Gotta run out to the mall now and see if I can find a Members Only jacket.
I mean who would ship their Betta to be in a contest. Not only is it expensive, but you risk your fish dying during shipping or getting problems from ammonia poisoning.
Tex must be a male. You might keep him in a 10 gallon hat.
Yeah, it is weird now that you mention it and now that I think about it. I just tend to get caught up in the excitement of new things.

He certainly looks healthy and content. I like his tank. That deep dark rainforest look suits him well.

Thanks! All of my bettas seem to be doing better with tannins in the tank.
