went to my favorite pet shop yesterday. Exotic Pets in beautiful west end Billings Montana. Saw the birds and lizards and small animals. They groom dogs and have three resident cats prowling the shop. The main reason for the visit was to go to the fish room. It is just so cool. Dark and humid with only the tank lights lighting it. No huge display tanks. Just rows of tens and twenties with the very most common fish in the hobby. They had 4 Bettas for sale all living in ten gallon tanks with various live bearers. Some fish were marked not for sale. Still being quarantined since arriving. And then there was the paper mâché octopus hanging from the ceiling and the hand painted fish artwork on the walls. This is no chain. This is a bonafide Ma and Pa shop. They have all the foods and filters and everything else you really need. Oh, and that fish room smells so good. Just like your own tanks when you open the lid to feed. What a great day I had. I lingered long and savored it. Even picked up some Frogbit. I complimented them on some excellent young angelfish they had and the talk was on. These people know their stuff. Real pet people. I hope they can hang on. And I hope you have one like them in your town.
