New Cat

Hello, I got a call my my animal shelter today telling me about a kitty that they had gotten in who was abandoned in a trailor park. They said that he is 18-20 years old and that it is likely that he would not find a home. I went down to see him and I couldn't help myself :-(

. He's pretty raggedy, they had to shave his back because he was so matted, but he is very sweet. I look forward to him spending what's left of his life with us. :thumbs:

I didn't get very good pictures because I was trying not to freak him out too bad on his first night home, so I will update this tomorrow.

One more, the glare caught his eyes, but you can still see his distinguished face. I think he is great and I wish he could talk. I would love to hear his story :wub:

I think he's just beautiful. You can tell he has been through plenty, and become all the wiser for it. Older cats just have that look! I'm so glad you have him. :wub:

I got some better pictures of him, better in that you can see what he looks like, not that he looks better. Poor guy, I can tell he's been through a lot. I get choked up when I look at him...I am just so happy that he came to live with us :-(

By the way, we've named him Jasper

One more of his sweet face. Is it strange that I've had him less than 24 hrs and I love him so much already? :unsure:

I think he reminds me of my cat that died last year who was 18 when she passed. Old cats, especially rescused ones, just seem to have so much love :wub:

He had a good first night, slept on my head :blink:

He was a little nervous when we went to bed, and he cried and paced a little, then he conked out

Probably the best he's slept in months. I read through his impound report last night and it says he was left in the trailor for two months before he was called in by citizens to the shelter. I can't believe he is even still alive. He has no teeth, so his food options are pretty limited. Poor guy, I just can't believe how much I love him :wub:

I went and bought him a whole bunch of wet cat food, the fancy stuff in the pouches even.

I'm giving that four times a day and then they have free feed on the dry food, which I have seen him pick at a little :thumbs:

I just hope that he's able to put a little weight on...imagine petting a skeleton with fur :crazy:

I asked because recently I took in a pregnant stray who was a skeleton herself. I started giving her 3 cans of Fancy Feast Patte a day and she's doing much better now. She had really bad teeth as well.

Now instead of worrying about her gaining weight I am anxiously awaiting the birth of the kittens!
