Platy velvet id?

Posted a few days ago somebody told me it was just coloration, everyday he frequently rubs against plants or chases down other fish and rubs against them hes been trying to rub against my bolivian all day and im worried hes gonna spread whatever hes got or is he seriously just itchy and thats it i need a solid answer last person was too vague, is this gold spotted coloration velvet or seriously just his coloration because its been the same visually since i got him he hasnt gotten any more gold. Sorry for overdrawn post

Hi, it is not easy to tell from that photo what is going on but I would agree that the photo shows normal gold scaling on that fish, though it is clear going by your description something is troubling him, your water looks cloudy what size is the tank, how long has it been set up and how many fish are in it?
 
OKay so i have very hard water i use stress coat plus and a lot of it just to get the metals out of the water i also use aqaadvisor and im at an 80% and thats with the new school of rasboras i just got every other fish acts fine i have two sensitive fish a honey gourami and bolivian ram the ram and gourami have amazing color and are very healthy and i get my water tested at the pet store i use and theyve never found anything wrong i bought the lil guy like this and hes always looked gold so it makes sense it could be coloration but it still worries me he tries rubbing against other fish
 
Also should add its a 20 gallon long and i have an aquaclear 50 and about $100+ worth of live plants and everything else thrives

im treating him for velvet as the gold is not normal coloration

Thats what killed your fish, overdosing stress coat.

Nice try genius but i have plenty other fish one being a bolivian ram that are alive and thriving rarely do i experience a death in the tank unless something is inherently wrong with the fish
 
Because of your insults I refuse to help you treat the rest your fish,

Remember if one fish has velvet they all do, you will need to treat your whole tank. Good luck with that.

Nice try genius is soooooo offensive, and again all other fish are fine i PURCHASED the fish with velvet and removed him from the tank before it had a chance to spread ur honestly not even worth explaining to you will still feel right probably
