Building my own canopy

here is how I am goin to fasten them to the inside of the canopy, hopeing I dont have to use anything metal

looks good but like others have said
how are you going to feed the fish?
also how are you going to remove the tubes for cleaning and replacing?
wouldn't open clips be better that the ones you are using?

The feeding hatch is a good idea, but what will happen when you need to do some work in the tank? Looks like you have live plants, I don't know about you and others but I have to do daily work to keep things clean with my planted tank. It looks great, I just think it's still not to late to add a hinge mechanism to save you the trouble later.
 
here is the light some of the light I will put in, I thinking of only start with 2 then after the tank settled I added the third one,

I hade to take a close shot with a highest shutter my camera can to beable to see, otherwise its just a to much light

any instructions on how you installed the lights? like the wiring, ballast, etc
 
What are the specs on the bulbs? I've heard that anything "floraglo" related doesn't work well with growing plants :dunno:
Also, if you're serious about growing lot's of plants, I'd build or get a spectroscope to see if you're actually getting full spectrum. Good luck :clap:
