there will be a feeding hatch, and the light can be removed by undoing two plastic nuts, like wingnuts..

The feeding hatch is a good idea, but what will happen when you need to do some work in the tank? Looks like you have live plants, I don't know about you and others but I have to do daily work to keep things clean with my planted tank. It looks great, I just think it's still not to late to add a hinge mechanism to save you the trouble later.

I'll just remove the lid when I need to work in the tank.

any instructions on how you installed the lights? like the wiring, ballast, etc

What are the specs on the bulbs? I've heard that anything "floraglo" related doesn't work well with growing plants 
Also, if you're serious about growing lot's of plants, I'd build or get a spectroscope to see if you're actually getting full spectrum. Good luck
