How come no greens like fresh peas or anything?
In my opinion, That is not a healthy diet. Guppies are omnivores and will eat most foods offered, however they need high quality vegetable matter in their diet to thrive. A varied diet is always best.

I disagree their on a healthy diet. the live foods I feed them substitutes [SIZE=10.5pt]vegetable matter[/SIZE] however I let algae grow in my tanks witch is quite adequate. I have never had the need to feed any prepared [SIZE=10.5pt]vegetable matter such as peas To keep[/SIZE] guppy’s healthy live food should be included in their diet I feed my fish almost daily and they are fed on a variety of live foods.NickAu said:

I love your guppies!
Livebearers are all such great gluttons that they constantly graze... I always encourage algae growth in my livebearers tank just so that they have a source of algae to be snacking on constantly... and of course, other feedings need to be decreased as a result.

I am mostly interested in wild type livebearers but always seem to end up with at least half a dozen fish tanks of different types of guppies I cant tay away from them lol.

Why would you stay away?! They are so lovely. Beautiful fish. The guppies' colorful finnage and wagging tail movements made them some of my wife's favorite fish (and she was never a fish person, she loves them now).

Not quite true. You are only adding live food but they are eating the algae. If not for the algae they would not be prospering. The reason I bring it up is because someone breeding in a more or less sterile environment might think that no greens are needed and that is simply not true.fish48 said:38 survived out of 41 still fed on nothing but live foods.
