Is My Silver Molly Pregnant?

You can assume that all female livebearers are pregnant, all the time.

Your molly does look pregnant, and she's starting to 'square off' (you can see her tummy looks like it has 'corners') so it will probably only be a few days until she gives birth; maybe a week.

If you're thinking of putting her in a breeding trap, please don't! Livebearers are better off staying in the main tank, as breeding traps are really too small for the fish to feel comfortable. If you want some fry to survive, make sure the main tank has plenty of hiding places; fine leaved, live plants are best.

If she is with males, she is. I agree with fluttermoth, she looks as though she could give birth soon. Maybe even today.

Hiya, yep she gave birth sometime during the night and some again this morning. Do you know how long the birthing process can be for all the baby fish to be born?

It really just depends on the female. I have had female guppies that finish in 2 hours and other females that take all day and all night.  Is this her first batch in your tank?
