It looks brilliant now. Good job. However, I think you could do a brilliant job at aquascaping with some live plants. Attach some java moss to your wood, it would look even more immense

Yeah i think i'll get a few live plants and moss in to it,what plants would you recommend and how many? Thanks for your comment ;)

No worries. This is my recent re-scape. I got a lot of my plants from this company but I am sure there are many others here in this website store reviews which may be good. It depends on your setup. I went basic and chose many of the plants which didn't require heavy co2 because of my current setup. In fact going to purchase some more momentarily to fill the front of my tank with the carpet affect. Personally, filling that wood you have with Java Moss would be my choice. Get some fish wire to attach it (make sure it is secure mine came loose) and probably some large plants for the background.

My forum post with my tank if you want to have a look here

I'm not a great plant grower, my tanks have no special provision for plants apart from the lights on for 10 hours a day, but I've managed to keep Anubias, java Fern, Amazon swords and a few others alive.

I gave up on anything more 'interesting' as they tend to be more difficult. My LFS which is generally very good with advice said anything with red in the leaf is going to need more looking after, CO2, Ferts, lighting depending on that plants requirements. I would rather a plainer healthy looking plant than a more exotic half dead one...

Cheers for the info there simplyfish,it would off been red ones i was looking but reading what you have wrote i think i might just need to go with the green plants other than coloured ones....cheers ;)

Just as simplyfish mentions, I am no great plant grower myself, just started with aquascaping only recently and learning ways of growing with plants. At this moment in time, I am just using a simple bit of co2 liquid and chose the easy plants. With some of the things on Ebay you just have to be a bit precarious. I like knowing that my plants are going to be in good quality and was wary of getting them online. But for me Aqua Essentials didn't fail me. If you want, here are a few links with the plants I used:

Tall/Background:
Microsorium pteropus green - I would strongly recommend this plant it is large and fills up space in the tank. It has beautiful vivid green colour too
Polygonum sp. sao paulo - This plant is a little favourite of mine. It looks like bamboo. Although it is ranked skilled, mine is doing fine with the liquid co2
Hygrophila polysperma - This plant is another great one. It is already at the top of my tank and I managed to split it into 3 different batches!
Alternanthera rosaefolia - Again, very similar to the above this plant, I split it, and it is growing magnificently

Foreground:
Lobelia cardinalis - Nice easy one and it is rated apprentice level the true beginner - mine is flourishing and is hidden under my bog wood
Anubias barteri - Great plant again ranked apprentice level and this is a really easy plant to grow

Carpet:
Java Moss (would deffo recommend this for your wood tie it with some fish wire and it should grow naturally then)
Micranthemum umbrosum - Another easy one which doesn't require co2 and fills out lovely on your carpet

Just remember to check out the store reviews on this forum for more recommended places but this may give you some ideas to get the ball rolling

Cheers Dandyman,i must get on and order the stuff, thought i might of got it done when i got in from work, hmmmm thought id get my new filter running...nightmare....but eventually got it sorted, still a little noisy though am just hoping thats because its new,but the pressure that comes out of the spray bar is pathetic,as long it does the job i want it to do along with the purigen,i'll be happy enough,if not it will have to be a big Eheim :D

That's a great site you've linked to as well. I've never seen such clear info about plants before...
