They probably wont, but you can become over populated quickly. Some snails don't even have to mate to produce fertile eggs so watch out.

If you are overrun by snails buy an assassin snail, munch munch
Did a quick count and I think I've got about 8 small specks crawling around the glass, under magnifying glass they look like snails
Also I've got lots of fry in and around the gravel,
I don't know wether to be pleased or not, I'm week two in to a fish less cycle , a little concerned to their welfare if I continue with my planned cycle
Was panning to introduce 2 Clown Loach, 6 Cardinal tetra's and 2-3 red wagtails when cycle ends, but will I have to reconciler now I have fry

I don't think it is fry. You don't have fish to get it from. Probably a worm. Are you talking about the black things?
I have this exact problem, in the process of fish less cycle amonia reading of 3ppm and loads of baby snails everywhere.
it looks like their covering the bottom of my tank in snail poo!

Clown loaches need to be in a group of 6+, and require a VERY large tank, as they grow to over a foot long. If they are kept for any length of time in a tank that is too small, they will become stunted, and their lifespan drastically shortened.
