I don't think this was like this yesterday, what the heck is all over my banana plant? Also note they haven't had any leaves in quite some time, but I put that up to being mowed down by critters.

This comes along quite often on this forum it's a harmless bacterial/fungus.

further investigation revealed half of it was all dead and mushy, so.... I think some of it may have just been decay. I pruned it, re planted it, and am crossing my fingers (also did a water chance, you know, while I was in there)
