He is isn't he? He looks absolutely stunning when the tank light is off but the room light is on. It makes the blue/green on his tail really stand out and his body is constantly changing colours.
He's in a 65l tank with 8 glowlight tetras. The tetras ignore him and he ignores them. In low light the tank is just gorgeous, with the greens/blues from Eventide and the orange from the tetras
He was so hard to name. I wanted something based off his colour, my boyfriend wanted things like Goldy, Blue, Bling and the like before we settled on Eventide. His tail goes from yellow to blue to black so it seemed fitting.
His nickname is Mr Grumpypants because he always looks like he's scowling
. Some of his tetra companions are suffering from it so the whole tank is now undergoing treatment with protozin. The tetras don't like it ( I used half dosage because of them) but Eventide is totally fine. no spots at all. He's still exploring the tank because I moved some of the vallis around while I was doing tank maintenance in preparation for the ich treatment. He's a greedy little bugger when it comes to food. I have a good feeling that he'll survive this ich plague
The ich is clearing up. On day 4 of the protozin treatment and none of the little guys have spots anymore. 1 more dose left on Friday and everything should be good. Eventide has been completely unphased by the medication. He's so chill
It's been a few more days and no sign of the little boogers for a week. Did a good gravel vac as well
I had issues with one of my glowlights harassing poor Eventide
so he's been moved to his own 25l tank. It WAS my quarantine tank so it's not exactly pretty but he seems happy. I also finally have him eating pellets, which he refused to do in the 65l
He stands out a lot more in the new tank though, due to the black gravel and grey castle ornament
