like a week ago I went and bought 3 white pearl scale angel fish. they are pretty big like..  little bigger then the palm of my hand with there long fins.  I have them in a 55gal. I have it heated to about 80deg. have a few plants in there. I have bin feeding them like 3 times a day. feeding them a beef heart mix I made and frozen brine shrimp and frozen blood worms.  they seemed to have chosen there own sections of the tank.

one on the far side by the filter one in the middle and one near the heater. when they move around to the other side of the tank they will chase each other back to there spots. but now the one in the middle and the one by the heater and always hanging out with each other. chasing each other and one floats on its side and the other picks at it like cleaning. but last night they where locking lips. and the one by the heater has bin picking at the bottom of the tank on top of one of the almond leaves I put in the tank 2 nights ago. does this mean they are going to spawn?  I hope sooo!

How many litres is the tank?
Go careful with 3 as once 2 have paired (as it sounds, the ones swimming together) they then might turn on the 3rd.
The lip locking is like, a test of strength so to speak - establishing if the other is strong enough to be their mate :p

yeah the 3d one is always hiding near the filter or around the plants. I think its the weaker one.  the other two are always battling each other and they where lightly picking at each other while one was just floating there kinda on its side. ALSO one of there tummys has started to get bigger or rounder on the sides. is that a female?

(this morning when I fed them one of them squirt water in my eye! XD)

I added a flower pot just encase. I hope.

The female does become rounder when she has a belly full of eggs but did you recently feed them? It'd be worth rehoming the third if they are going to become a pair otherwise there is a possibility they could even kill the third especially when they lay eggs.
Google pictures on how to tell the difference between male and female - most assured way is when their papilla drops just before spawning.

I have angles too, if two pair of couldn't you get a new mate male/female depending on the odd ones sex. And add it to pair of with the odd one?

Depends on the size of the tank - plus you are risking deaths with trying to introduce more, could end up messy as its not guaranteed they'd pair off. Nor can you 100% guarantee the sex of the loner without seeing them spawn.

yeah i did just feed them when I noticed and now there bellys are flat again. they are all kinda chill now for some reason. and two hang out at the filter and the other near the heater. tho that might be thats where all the plants are. but they are still really active. every once in a while they lock lips but they are not to aggressive. they are not chasing away any other fish. if they start I have anther tank they can go in. I keep close eye on all my fish tanks. there tanks are in my living room and the spawning grow tanks are in my fish room.

i dont know witch is male or female or anything like that.  I also read that when males do the lip locking thing there papilla comes out. tho none of my fish have done that.
