My new betta who I've had for 2 days has made a bubble nest does this mean he is happy? And that I'm doing everything right?

No, he is just showing natural behaviour.

As long as his tank is more than 15 litres, he has a filter and heater, has weekly water changes (if aquarium is filtered) and has not too much food, he should be happy.

Do you test water parameters?

Lovely looking betta by the way :)

I did before he was put in the tank and everything was fine, thank you he cost me a small fortune haha

When a betta makes a nest I always found it to mean he was healthy. He is healthy enough to thinking about reproducing. A sick fish will not find the energy to build a nest like the one yours has.

So I would say yeah a bubble nest means you have a happy fish. Good job.

I've seen a betta or two at my LFS in those .5 liter glass bowls making bubble nests.

A bubble nest is not a sign of good health or happiness.  It is a mere sign that he is sexually mature.  Even fish that are sick and in horrible conditions will make bubble nests.

OP -  Your boy is very nice looking boy.  :D
