Hey guys title says it all basically. I currently have my pride and joy Farlowella. I was thinking
scizzortail rasboras for schooling fish but was told against it as they get too big. I have high current. Was also thinking a centerpiece fish. Maybe a cichlid/unique fish? I would get dwarf neon rainbows and that would solve my problem for schooling and centerpiece but sadly where I live in the US there are none that are sold in LFS nearby. And Dr Foster and Smith is simply too expensive. (only 15 years old) Any and all suggestions are wanted, needed, and greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Joeb

any suggestions at all?  German blue rams?  apistogramma if your water is harder.  for shoaling fish why not harlequin rasboras or cardinal tetras?  A nice dark substrate like eco complete would look nice with a school of 6 sterbai corydoras and some red cherry shrimp.  if you want something more unique an african butterfly fish would be sweet.  kuhli loaches, though i've never been a fan of their personalities.  some type of gourami, again not a fan of their personalities.  one of the nicer looking schooling fish are rummy nose tetras.  or, if you like something plain, and you enoy breeding fish than either platys or guppies would be great, though they're probably my least favorite.  longfin bristlenose plecos?  a 20 is kind of small for them though.  what about otocinclus and some shrimp, you can get tiger shrimp for fairly cheap online.  Indian glass fish?  I know i'm missing a ton of awsome fish for a 20 but I just can't think of them.

The OP is looking to stay away from corydoras and other "bottom dwellers" as he already has a Farlowella.

My empty tank :( in need of a background + fish of course

Stunning. The little plant has such an impact. It is like one of those cheesy drama films. :D

Thanks for the positive criticism. You've given me courage to post my tank and its specifications.
