The first one is, I think, a Chinese algae eater (also called sucking loach) Gyrinocheilus aymonieri.

The second is a Pangasius sp; probably P. sutchi or P. hypothalamus; all Pangasius species get huge anyway (even the smallest get to about three foot), so the actual species isn't going to make much difference to it's care.

Thanks very much you've been a great help, 3 foot long Pangasius, hope they taste nice its a bit too big for my tank.

Take it back to the shop while you can.

Also, sorry for quoting you Fluttermoth, my account was playing up and I agreed with you so had to quote you before I could post :/

There is a chipshop in Norfolk that sells Pang and chips, nice meaty flesh, probably a fish more suited to the plate than an aquarium unless you have a lot of room and money!

My heart sinks everytime I see one of these ID threads and then ironically an ID shark pops up in the photo. Absolute nightmare for the OP

Just rehome it asap - preferably back to the store eventually they will end up with tanks just full of them getting bigger and bigger until they run out of options... harsh but one batch of them stuck in the shop will end up with them not getting any more.

Totally agree. Everytime there's an ID thread in "Predatory Fish" or "Catfish" I die a little inside cause I'm expecting there to be a Pangasiidae in there :(
