Whoa! That that is a MAJOR color shift! Steel grey/blue to copper? Something doesn't sound right. Unless maybe he is carrying marble genes. A lot of times marbles will change their "patch formation".
Well it is a dramatic change, I think when I took the photos last time I used the flash which did distort the colours a bit from what you see without the flash. He seems happy enough though! 
Looking at the previous photo even the finnage has changed a bit, it's like he's a different fish, but I assure you he is not, my first and so far only betta. 
( I have more plans though...

wow he looks like a totatlly diff. fish, but his fins are different too now, did he get a bout of fin rot along the way?
