Sadly his tank-mate recently died of dropsy and I'm concerned he is going the same way. I've currently got him separated from the other fish because I've heard dropsy can be caused by bacterial infections and I don't want risk infecting the other fish.

I've been treating his water with myxazin. His appetite is really good and he is very active. Not sure if I'm doing the right thing at this point. Or if there's even anything wrong with him.

Does he look a normal shape for a guppy- or is he slightly bloated?

If so what should I be doing for him? Does he need any treatment for infection?

Here's a video of him now,
the picture attached to the post is from when I got him 9 months ago.

Thanks for any help you can give x

I think it is bloated and looks like its swimming in a "not right" way also do you have a aqua one tank?

It would be a good idea to;

test the water
do a large water change
don't feed for a couple of days
when you do feed them again, give them some lightly cooked, deshelled, crushed up peas.

Your guppy doesn't look very bloated to my eyes, but it's certainly not 'right'. If your water, and all your other fish, are fine, then I would suspect old age; guppies do go that that when they get very old. Make sure the other fish don't pick on him.

Hi,

Looks like it could be swim-bladder!

As fluttermoth rightly stated, peas would be the next step in order to aid bowel movement.
Hopefully he's still feeding.

If you have trouble getting him to feed, maybe move him to his own tank to feed him.

Does he have trouble pooping?
If so have you checked nitrate levels?

Danny
