I started this in a different forum but couldn't attach pictures...

I picked up this plant at the lfs a week ago, without doing much research into what it is (amazon sword?)
Anyway, noticed small outer leaves have blackened dots which are getting worse and spreading. I remember reading about a bacterial that could do this.
I wonder whether best chop these leaves off and discard? The plant hasn't really grown much either. (haven't got round to covering all the base yet with gravel)

*bump* yes, it should be in the plant section, but posting pics didn't work.

Looks like a deficinecy such as iron,

Most places grow swords and other plants emersed, so those are terrestrial leaves and just dying off for new aquatic leaves. Before you finish planting it, be sure to remove the weight and foam and don't cover the crown of the plant. That's where the roots meet the plant, swords will rot if its covered.

Oh and just trim off the leaves as they die back.
