Hello my friends, regards from México.

A few months ago I have purchased two catfish at a local aqurium. They are beutifull, gracefull and healthy and measure some of 9 cms long. The local aquariums are not very specilized and they sold me the fish as "gatas" (spanish word for "cats").

I searched the net looking for some info and I think that they are in fact corydoras, but I can´t identify their particular family. Any help will be very appreciated.

the two in the picture are not corydoras, they are horabagrus brachysoma

These are eclipse catfish, or sun catfish. They grow fast, and up to 18 inches. Theyre really fun to have if you have a tank big enough. I bought one from a local store who told me they would only get up to 6'. It was a little over 1 inch 3 months ago and now he is a about 3 inches :)
