Can some betta's be striped? I have a female who is about 3 months old and she is still striped

Which way are the stripes? Females can be striped all their life, if they run parallel to the body then they're most likely stress stripes... If the run horizontal they're most likely breeding stripes.

They are purple horizontal stripes and she is as happy as can be.

Are you sure she's happy?
Some females can get them even when happy, my girl does. I have 2 girls and one is constantly striped up even though she's the more active and happy one of the two...

Yeah I am sure she is happy. The sorority gives her a wide berth and she jumps for food

one of my females will get them when a von rio swims by her the wrong way or if the plant is leaning to much to the left or when ever she feels like it

HannahBear that's what my female is like. I moved a plant by accident in a water change and she went flaring at me for it and striped up because it was 'wrong' in her eyes

Lol thanks play lover...that's why I don't move the decorations around cus when I switched to all silk plants they were really stressed for a couple days
