Bought 2 female bettas today for my 60L community tank.

They seem to be settling in nicely and maybe when they are bigger I could try my hand at breeding!

Well, what do you reckon:

The stripey one I got because it looked similar to FreshMike's female that died not long back and I thought she was beautiful....

The White and red one is just very pretty with the hints of blue in the bright red fins.

I haven't named them yet! FreshMike do you have any suggestions for the stripey one?

Not sure what to name the Cambodian one yet....

Why do you say the stripey one looks stressed 55gD? She seems very happy so far..

Well its very rare to find a female that has horizontal lines as body marks... -_-

I bet many of my fellow Betta Lovers agree that when a female is scared or stressed she gets horizontal lines... :)

Someone please back me up..

i saw lots with stripes back in the petstore, but i never bought any of them because i thought the stripes meant that they were stressed  not too sure about this though.

Check out my female :D she's the twin of yours :D

They are so pretty! :D
Congratulations on the great find. :)

I thought I heard somewhere that stripes ment they were stressed. I'm not totally sure about that though.

Um, not necessarily?!? I have seen loads of pictures of females with stripes or dots. And they had a few more in the fish shop like this girl.

Anyway, some clearer pics:
