Pregnant Guppy

I'm pretty sure she's pregnant! How can you tell when she is about to give birth?

Whilst part of me would be happy to let the fry roam around and let the little bit of nature that is in my tank select the fastest and most cunning to survive, it would be nice to know what to look for so I have the option of the fry tank. What I don't want to do is put her into the fry tank too early as it can't be great for a fish to be restricted in there.

you're still a couple days off.. you can see the eyes when poppage is imminent..

Not all the times, depends on the female. I wasn't for mine.

Let me move this to the common livebearer section where people familiar with livebearers will help you out.

She is very close, she will definitely drop soon.

I would say... hard to tell... probably within a week but you never know, 2 weeks maybe!

I find my own females varied greatly! I've had two less round than yours give birth when I thought they surely couldn't be ready... another gets about the size of yours and has 25 or so fry.... another gets so huge she can't swim properly anymore and carries the babies a good 1-2 weeks past when you can see the black eyes and silver rings.
