The first is really blurry and looks like maybe a platy? The second looks like some sort of cichlid.

Thanks, I am sorry its blurry, it was really hard to picture it. It's a bit longer and slender than a platty. Similiar looking face but body looks different.

the first one is definatly a golden barb. its a temperate fish (likes cooler water) that lives in groups of 8 or more and the second picture is some kind of cichlid. i cant really see it very well though

Yeah first looks like a Gold Barb second could be a young Rainbow Cichlid?

I am going to guess gold barb in that picture, not platy nor molly. Rainbow cichlids are huge by comparison. These are some of mine.

This picture shows one of my gold barbs.
