Hi everyone

Im new to Fishfourms i have got a few questions i need help with so if anyone could help that would be great.
I have at the moment a 125L tank and want to upgrade to a bigger one. I have seen a tank i like but it comes with a built in trickle filtration system what is located inside the lid.
Here is the link for the tank im thinking of buying

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180856138200?var=480094231311&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

I have never seen or dont know anyone who has this type of filtering system and im not to sure if there anygood. So thats the first thing. The other thing i dont really no anythink about is the lighting it says T5 lighting i have done a bit of looking around online and people have differnt views so if there is anyone with this sort of light that could let me know about the look the light gives off that would be great.

I will be using the tank for tropical fish.

Thanks for read 150.pnging.

Heh I might be getting the same tank as you!

They are apparently quite good from one of the posts I've read.

These tanks look ok to be fair. Someone else has bought one and said the tank itself is nice enough but the stand could be of better quality but hey, what more do you want for that price. Iv got t5 lighting on 2 of my jewels tanks. My vision 260 and rio 400. Don't see any problems with the lights. Nice and bright. Easy to replace if you want different colours such as moonlight blue. My rio uses 2 high lite day and 2 high light nature. The nature gives a slightly warmer look. The day is.. Uhh... Bright lol

Can't see the filtration system being too good though. Everyone here that iv come across goes for internal filters or externals. Externals usually more so. There are plenty available from companies such as fluval, tetratec, rena, eheim, all pond solutions and so on. It's just a case of finding a suitable 1 for your tank. So 1 that's recommended for 250 litres+

In most cases the more filtration in the tank the better. You usually want a turn around of 3 or 4 times your tank volume. So you'd be looking at around 800-1000 lph (litres per hour). This means the filter will cope well with the bio load (waste your fish produce).

Have you considered buying 2nd hand? There are plenty of bargains about. I got my rio 400 (450 litres) which is 151x51x66 cm (5 foot in length) with the stand, a fluval fx5 external filter, 2 heaters, sand and bogwood all for £200 :) the filter alone would cost more than that and the tank even has the sticker on the top that it came with when new lol

I have had one of those trickle filtration systems before but this was in a 10 gal tank, it worked very well but I am not sure if it will be able to cope with a tank that size.

Thank for the replys turns out I'm not gonna go for this tank as I come across someone's review on here.
