One of the Ballast units has blown in my Aquastyle 850 (AR-850). I have tracked down the Chinese company that makes these but they have a minimum order of 1000 units! I have also posted some wanted ad's but i'm not holding my breath for that.
So I'm after some advice on a replacement ballast unit. From what i've read I should be able to use any T8 Single 25W unit and I have found some made by Philips. What confuses me is that on my existing unit there are simply two wires going into it yet on new units they all seem to have connections for power plus an array of connections on the other side to connect the tube. Why doesn't my existing unit have these additional connections?
I have attached a picture of the dead ballast (the burnt wire was white by the way).
The one I think will do the job is a Philips HF Matchbox Blue 124SH - as seen here
