hi i have got two clown loaches which i brought from my lfs but since adding them to my tank to get rid of snails they have attacked and eaten up to 6 fish of various breeds and sizes any one else experienced this before. they are about 8cm long and bully everything in my tank

You need a larger group of them, I would think. How big is you're tank?

never heard of them killing other fish, they'll happily munch on dead fish as will any other fish in the tank. As said you need more for the group and they also grow very large so require a 6ft tank

its a 260 litre tank

its a 260 litre tank with plenty of hiding places and plants

I would take then back, and get an assassin snail. Will eat the snails, and you won't have to risk it bullying the other fish. :)

Or a zebra loach! They stay smaller and also eat snails. You could have a group of them, assuming your tank had the space.

What fish have died and have you actually seen the clowns doing it? i highly doubt it is them, i have a groups with small tetras, baby guppies and bettas

i have had 4 neon tetras one congo frog a blue dwarf gourami and a kissing fish die i watched them pick the congo frog up and drag it around the tank then it was dead they always chase my black phantom tetras i am asuming it is them as like i said before only since i put them in the tank fish have died

Are they definitely Clown Loaches and not some other loach species? Upload a pic or video clip, the behaviour you are describing sounds very unusual for a Clown Loach, but there are some spiteful loach species often sold.

How did you cycle the tank?

How are you testing the water? Have you done daily checks for two weeks after adding the loaches?

Did these loaches come from a tank containing lots of other Clown Loaches and/or other species?

Please give us a full stocking list (species, approx. size excluding their tail fin, numbers) before these recent deaths.
