Hey all

i was hoping somone on here could recommend reliable online seller of real stone Buddha heads for my fish tank ( 100 liters ). Don't really want plastic in the tank. Btw i live in Australia Melbourne

Any particular reason you don't want plastic in your tank? You say plastic, but most aquarium ornaments are made of resin as plastic floats.

Something like that made of stone certainly isn't going to come cheaply.

I've had a few problems with my last plastic buddha head, It was a hollow statue so the water would get stuck in the statue & sit, the smell got pretty bad... made the water smell alittle like rotten egg, drove me crazy for a few days trying to figure out where it was coming from

I wouldn't mind a resin or plastic as long as it was complete, i would be guessing resin wouldn't have the same problems right?

Unless you go for the expensive one, resin ones are usually still hollow, but a stone one would cost a bomb. An option could be to drill some holes in the back for water to escape if there aren't any as part of the design, then setting an air stone to run underneath/inside it. Even if you just had it on one minute a day, it'd be enough to keep circulation and stop the water going stagnant inside.

Thanks for the reply

cool idea :D.... I'll order anther one from the store & see how it goes. But honestly i wouldn't mind paying abit extra on a stone statue, nothing to big :D i only need the head

btw is there a way to test to see if the statue is safe to put in the aquarime.

I bought one from Pets @ home which has an inlet for airstone already see attached pic. This is made of resin though
