Fish Fanatic
Its hard to believe that the last time i posted a tank pic was april 04 its even harder to believe that i've had my tanks and equip well over 8 years and i'm still on all the original kit bar a few tube changes. Anyways i've always kept the tank going though not always been active on the forums
So lately I’ve taken much more of an interest in providing a nice tank setup, learning about different species of fish and plants and most importantly water chemistry including the purchase of API master test kit
I decided to change the gravel to a natural kind of dorset gravel as the white that was in there had been hostage to some algae i'd allowed to form, I am also interested in building up a live planted setup and have opted for planted bogwood which I believe is durable and quite flexible in terns of moving around etc whilst your still deciding on a final layout
SO out with the plastic plants and with a natural look - i've just got one ornament which happens to be my red tailed sharks house and when i've built up some more natural hidey holes I'll fade it out
Here are a couple of pics of where i am now – there’s no background on the tank at the moment because I’m deciding on what to have, as a black background just didn't seem to complement the natural gravel though granted it is quite sparse at the moment
I have posted a couple of pics of the plants which aren't looking there healthiest at the moment should I use some feeder for them – advise welcome
SO hello to all again hopefully I’ll keep up a more active role here now days – theres some beautiful fish tank setups I’ve seen and when I move and settle I’ll def be upgrading to a much larger tank (maybe juwel 180 vision and then some)
The plants think they need a multi vit?
Pierre the red tail is healthy though !
NOTE ignore the plant question on this post i have posted this in the planted section
