Live Bearer Pictures Please!:)

It is not a platy Ny82. It is a goodeid. The female is above and the male is below.
Oh, I have not heard of that. I will go back to dobbies tomorrow and take a pic of the male I have put aside-he looks remarkably similar but then again I have a very short memory and can't remember if it was spots he had or stripes-or even both
He was in the "assorted platy" tank. They got lots of platy in this morning but are in quarantine which is why I couldn't have him today. I have never seen one like him which is why I chose him but it could just be his markings he is the only one aswell and a lot smaller than the rest.

Thanks for that I have never heard of them. You have lovely fish :good:

That explains it Fish48. My largest C. encaustus is about 4 inches SL while my smallest one would likely dwarf the ones you have in the pictures. I thought they looked somewhat familiar but not at all like mine. I will try to get a picture and post it.

oldman up to 4 inches is about right fully grown. also the adults will look a completely different than the ones I put in the photo as they grow and get older they loses the stripes/ bars. and become more like a row blotches. although there a nice looking fish

sorry wrong post

thats a very nice wild platy! would love to get one. is she pregnant? (forgive me if the platy is a he  )

very nice platy's HayzH

Thanks. I will probably try to breed this one. Picture doesn't do him justice as my camera is crap, but he is a stunner in my opinion( probably because he is mine  )

some times it can be difficult to get a good photo and no matter how hard you seem to try some fish will never look as good in a photo.

a fixed strain of guppy they look way better seeing them in the flesh.
