Hi Guys,

So i have just noticed that i have got eggs stuck to the back top left & right sides of my tank.

Are these most likely to be kribensis eggs? She has been digging for a few days and was looking very colourful & round which she has lost. Isnt it a little strange though that she would lay them here rather than in her cave? Mr Krib is still a little young we think and they dont appear to have been paired. Could it be that as they dont share a cave that she thinks the only way for them to get fertilised is for them to be out in the open?
she also doesnt appear to be guarding/protecting them & is showing no sign of aggression to any of the other fish?

If they dont get fertilised by him is she likely to get aggressive towards him?

The other tank mates include, lemon tetra, bleeding heart tetra, phantom tetra & zebra loaches. I did have tiger barbs in there until this morning could it have been them?

My money would be on the tiger barbs, I am pretty sure nearly all tetras are scatter layers and usually will spawn into weed or spawning mops. When I first saw the eggs I immediately thought Corydoras, I know it is HIGHLY unlikely to be the loaches but just to explore all possibilities how many zebra loaches do you have and how long have you had them? Khuli loaches when they spawn in private tanks the eggs are often up near the surface of the tank stuck on the sides, so it just made me wonder about your loaches.

I thought cory eggs as well. How big are they, and where on the tank are they?

Cory Eggs!!!

Erm..... well i had tiger barbs in this 180l tank and i had a 60l tank that i had corys in. After a few days of the tigers nipping at the zebra loaches (which i put in 2 days ago) i decide that it was time to move the tigers into the 60l tank and move the corys into this 180l tank this morning. So i guess that it could be cory eggs. Would they lay eggs in the tank within about 4 hours of being moved?

The eggs are about a mm and are in the back top left side of the tank, the top right back side of the tank and on the thermometer which is in the top front left side of the tank!

My zebra loaches are about 4-5 cm and only went in 2 days ago.

I just assumed that it was krib eggs as she has been digging all week and getting bigger bellied!

Yup. +1. That's what you see in my avatar.
<------

i have a lot of these on the sides of my tank and my algae scraper form my dwarf corys... i have to get rid of them though as i already have 8... (i think 4m, 4f)

You can likely just leave them there. I don't have a big survival rate. If some do make it, you can always sell them or rehome them!

ok, will try with this spawn load, i think theres about 10 eggs in total..... theyre still quivering... i expect more.....

Thanks guys,

I have just googled cory eggs and they definitely are!!

Ok so i can just leave them as they are? As you said there wont be a high survival rate but is it likely that any of them will survive. I will do all i can to try and help them, i just dont want to mess with them by taking them out of the tank and into another tank etc!!

it is risky but you could TRY and move them into a breeder net... they will be safer there for sure :)
