So I went to the pet shop today for dog collars, ended up coming home with 1 female betta, 2 bristlenose catfish and a new plant
My new girl is quite small, the employee told me she is about 3 months old - but then again she wasn't too sure.
She was in a big tank all by herself next to another tank full of female bettas. She was just staring into that tank which made me feel bad for her
So I brought her home. She's currently in the same tank as my other female Betta but in a breeder just until she settles in and the other fish 'accept' her.
I'm not sure about her tail type though... I have some photos of her so if anyone can help me figure out what tail type she is that would be great :)

Photos Here (takes you to the album)

Since those photos she has gained more colour and lost her stress stripes :D
She is dark blue with red fins.

OMG u have my hirls twin :p
Go on to the thread called my betta ha grown huge
It shows a pic of my female and two of my males (females at the bottom)
Anyway nice colours :)

I wasn't sure about her tail type when I bought her.
The edges of her tail are very straight and don't curve in like a VT.. But then again I'm not too sure, I'm no expert
I'm trying to get a better photo of her that really shows off her tail - she's a bit camera shy.

Nawww thank you :)
She's a VT, and very big at the moment! She eats a lot of food.. She steals flakes off my other fish hehe.

Well I was thinking Delta...
The edges if her tail are straight and do not curve in towards each other like a VT.
But Im getting mixed replies, so I will try my hardest to get a better photo

I released her into the tank this morning and it all went pretty well.
My other female was chasing her a little, so I added a bubble stone to help create a distraction and it worked perfectly.
The chasing has stopped and she has settled in nicely. She is exploring her new home and loves the car ornament

Here is another photo of her. It kinda shows off her tail..

She is very fast, so trying to get a good photo of her is almost impossible
I'm almost positive she is a Delta, when she flares the edges of her tail are straight. My VT female's tail curves in towards each other when she flares - so that makes me think that she's a Delta.
I've also looked up photos of Deltas, and they look exactly the same
I don't think she's a HM, her tail isn't the full 180* like it should be..
So confused

Thanks :)
Well, from that info, I still think it's a Delta..
Just out of curiosity, what makes you think she is a VT?

I am unable to count her rays properly, she moves way too fast.. But I think she has 2? But possibly more
From the link you gave to me, it makes me think Delta, but as you said VT which also has 2 rays I'm confused :p
Delta's have 2-6 rays.. So because her tail is straight at the edges and her anal fin at that shape - that's where I'm getting Delta from.

So I did this:

Please excuse the glass haha
