Hey all

So I redid my tank AGAIN maybe 2 months ago and now it's starting to look like a disaster and a half..even though it is only a ten gallon, I do want it to be a beautiful tank. Please, can anyone offer me any help? feel free to criticize, I won't take any offense. I just want it to look good.

Thanks,
Meg

edit: sorry for the bad pix..

IMO the 'cheese' looking stones don't go well with the scape, which looks excellent to me! Either get some darker coloured, more natural looking stones or remove them altogether and add more plants. :good:

it's just one big rock in there, originally in there to weigh down the wood which wouldn't sink (and still won't by itself)...I really wish I had different wood! Do you think that maybe taking out the big piece of wood and finding a nice small piece of manzanita might improve it?

do you suggest moving the wood in any way - back, diagonally, flipping it - to give it more room? Moving any plants around? I will check to see if the wood will sink on its own today or tomorrow, whenever I have time for a quick/small rescape...Also I have some java moss...would that look good on any part of the wood?

Possibly try an move the wood from corner to corner so the back end is hidden a little? You could attatch the Java Moss to the back end too... But Christmas or Weeping Moss would create a much nicer look. Try to wedge the wood, but if not then try to use some other stone as it is just drawing the eye to that rather than the nice scape.

Alright, will do...as for plants? I have TONS of hornwort, Pygmy amazons, java fern, java moss, an ozelot sword (I think), anubias, some spirally palnt I forgot the name of but it is halfway dead, and a small crypt....I will figure out where all those will end up going...buti have one main question: I don't know if u can see it but in the upper right ish I have a small piece of wood with the java moss attached to it and a java fern...I had put it there just to fill up a it of the emptiness...what do I do with that? Should I remove the fern and moss and use it somewhere else, or should I keep that piece of wood in there (where would I use it?) ? I will take a pic of it in just a minute...thanks for putting up with all of my silly questions

Alright so the pic of the wood in the very empty tank I just put up so you could see the actual size/ shape of the piece as you can't see the full piece in my tank now...the second pic is a close up of the fern and moss attached

I would try and get the wood looking good together rather than remove one then plant around them.

that's going to be hard! :) I will try to sketch something out and see what I come up with :)

I would combine the two together the best you can... You can always hide the 'joint' with some plants should you feel the need.

Good luck :)
