IMG_0002.JPG:unsure: hi everyone i am new to this and recently i rescued a couple of fish from a neglected tank and I am unsure what these 2 are so any help would be much appreciatated, thanks in advance...... Kelvie

:good: Thanks at least i can do a bit of research on them now i hav a rough idea lol

I have never kept them, but have heard that they are pretty good at eating specific types of algae, mainly BBA when they are younger. Once they are older, they can turn quite dominant and have less taste for the algae. They can also be fairly territorial so best solo or in groups of six or more. Oh and they can grow to around 6".

There are a couple or so very similar species, so research them all. There's a helpful chart in this thread

i would have to say they are false siamese algae eaters. Just be aware that these fish aren't really good algae eaters and get very aggressive when older.

Indo (aka True) Flying Foxes

I have been reading up alot about all of them and the 1 that looks the most like mine is the false SAE, so now i am unsure if i still want them in my tank, i knew that they would have to be moved eventually but now im thinking about moving them on asap :S

Those are definately false siamese algae eaters...

See if a local petshop may take them? or put them up cheap in the sales forum?

i wouldnt know how much they go for so i would probs just give them away lol
so there is a false SAE free to good home in the northeast..... COLLECTION ONLY
