Hey all just a quick question...I have some gunk on the top of the sand, but the problem is that it is so heavily planted there is no way I can get a gravel vac down there for a quick clean up...what should I do?

Thanks, Megan

Use thin airline tubing to get in amongst the plants. I tend not to worry about it though, I haven't vacuumed my sand in months, but then again mine is dark sand.

I have dark sand, too. Would it be okay just to leave it then and leave it to my shrimp?

The shrimp will eat any uneaten food which is the main thing to get out of the way. The poo should work its way into the sand which will feed your plants. Do you have something to move the sand about such as kuhli's or cories?

I don't know if I could get any in there...I already have 4 shrimp and I'm afraid the pygmy cories wouldn't have room to swim...here's a pic to show you what I mean...the bottom is pretty filled up...
