Hi all. I was at my LFS today and saw these beautiful fish in the tank. They only had 5 left so i got them all. They said they are called a fireball danio or a fireball tetra, they werent sure. These fish are beautiful. 1" to 1.5" long, light bluish bodies, long, red nose and all red fins. They are very active through out the tank. swim very fast all over Seem to chase each other alot but not agressive to others (very similar behavior to zebra danios) a bit taller than zebras and swim all over the tank not just the top. I looked online for fireball danios and for fireball tetras, but could find nothing. can anyone help with an identification. I tried to take a pic by it didnt come out too good. Thank you.

I think they are called red fin danios

Redfin danio:

Resembles a zebra danio with blood red fins. It may be a colour morph of the Orange Finned Zebra Danio `Danio kyathit` * `Maximum length`: 2.5 inches (6 cm) * `Colors`: Blue, silver, red * `Temperature preference`: 20-25 degrees Celsius * `pH preference`: 6 to 7

Is that the one?

Im not sure what were looking at in the pics as they are quite small, and the Tetra (again, not best image) look similar to ordinary Neon Tetra?

Columbian tetra?

thank you all, i know the neons are in the pic too, (actually theyre cardinals) but i was not referring to them as the fish in question.

Looks to me to be Red Shiners aka Rainbow Dace....

Think they are coldwater at very most room temp/very low trop, reputation for being very active and pretty nippy...

Other than that, dont really deal with them, had them briefly years ago..

Wow have not seen that name in awhile! Thanks for reminding me about those fish.
