When Will My Guppy Give Birth?

Hi I have two female guppies who both look at identical stages in their pregnancy. They got a little lethargic in the main tank so I have moved them into a breeding trap but havnt separated them yet. They seem just as placcid in here. Please could you tell from the piccy when they are likely to give birth? Thankyou!!

They 1 on the right, very soon, possibly in the next few days.
The 1 on the left has got a bit longer to go, by looks of it.

Best way to know when they are going to give birth is they will look more squarelike, which i would say your red guppy looks like.

You can't keep them continously in these breeder traps as this will stress them out.

The one with the yellow tail looks like she just dropped her fry recently, she is not heavy at all. The one with the red tail may be as close as a week from her next drop.

The one on the right looks almost ready (also her gravid spots are large and dark which is another good sign)! Give it about a week. The other is probably going to tak a bit longer. Maybe two weeks. Be carefull with the breder trap. I do not frown upon them but they can be stressfull for the fish so just keep your eyes open for any signs of distress. A seprate tank with lots of plants is remcomened. They sell baby grass in stores which you can float or put in the gravel. these are perfect for giving them a place to hide from hungry fishies!
