I added a couple platys to my tank from the LFS, one of which I'm sure is a blue platy, and the other I'm having a hard time identifying. The LFS tank had a variety of platys in the tank but only a couple signs.
My best guess is X. gordoni, or Northern platy, but I'm hoping someone on here can ID it for me. Hard to tell from the picture, but it has two horizontal dark lines down the side.

Thanks in advance.

Not to sure from the pic, maybe a few more pics would be helpful?
But if you say 2 dark sort of lines down its side, could it be some sort of tuxedo platy?

It looks like the swordtail hybrids they well at Petsmart and many other shops.

Ive got 2 exactly the same. My lfs told me they were something like yellowgreens when i asked.
Doesnt sound like much ocmf a name but they are pretty reputable

It's a sunset platy, which is a cultavated platy.

To get wild platy's in shop's are almost impossible.

Agreed. Body looks a bit long to be 'pure' platy (yes I know these don't really exist). Plus the stripes and sort of olive green look like 'wild type' swordtail colouration.

It's just long coz it's not pregnant currently, it will soon develop if it is though.

No, I have seen tons of platies. That is not a non-pregnant platy, it is a swordtail hybrid.
